A most August month

Five weddings and a funeral. Pretty exhausting time. Plus, finishing work (thank the lord) and preparing for school! It's been weird, going into Woolies and getting excited about the 'Back to School' signs. Crazy. Perhaps this is the start of the long regression back to my second childhood? Roll on senility.

1. Trusted my instincts on: being sure it was a green woodpecker I saw down in Devon. It was.
Putting pink with grey for wedding no.3. Perfect.
Choosing a certain reading and a certain set of pictures for wedding no.5. Went down a treat.
Having moved in with Lucy. Going swimmingly so far. Feels like home already.

2. I've been penning history essays again! Pre-course ditties, but still, it's something. More importantly, after a run-in with an aspiring author, I've added a few more pages to Chapter Four of the 'white horses' project. Now that is good news.

3. SORTED. Lots of reading ahead of the course beginning, and some essays as noted. Been great to get back into the subject. And it was an absolute joy to leave that rubbish company. Extant company included. What a waste of my life! But happily, it got me to Bristol, and introduced me to Lucy (indirectly), so mustn't grumble.

4. Erm. The back's been a bit effed recently. Not enough exercise and far too much being couped inside that green bubble of a car. All a bit sore. But hopefully, striding around the classroom like I'm Al Capone will help that one out.

5. Eating such wonderful food at weddings, and I've been living it up with all this spare time in August. I've even been having meals ready when I come home, care of stay-at-home girlfriend (for August anyway). Brilliant.

Ciao for now.
