Climbing out of the sand Junes

Summer time, and the weather is fine. Though it's clouded over today as it happens. I've spent the month twiddling thumbs and thinking about September (oh and the highlights of the summer - Sarah's hen-do, three (more) weddings, two holidays AND the mighty Simple Minds playing in Bristol). I handed in my notice in late May and it's been increasingly obvious that I don't want to be here. Ho hum. Being so obnoxious they let me go home, isn't working either.

1. On my instincts I thrust myself into the role of Paul Bratter (see previous post) and came out with rather good results (and I don't just say so myself - http://www.bbc.co.uk/bristol/content/articles/2006/06/09/barefoot_feature.shtml). It was excellent to finally be doing some proper acting as it's all been farce and pantomimes for me on the acting front since I came to Bristol. Sadly, this is the last role before I take on the biggest challenge of my acting career - pretending I know what I'm talking about in front of 30+ screaming and sceptical kids.

Probably a fair estimation of how I'll look when I'm trying to explain why we should be learning about the Victorians.

2. Finally got the freelance work done. Not the best bit of writing I've ever scribbled out, but one of the tightest deadlines. Plenty of ideas forming for the future, just need to get fingers to keyboard. Hey, does this blog count as writing?

3. SORTED Reading list books on their way via Amazon, forms all handed in, including my Criminal Records Check... I hope I buried him deep enough. Absolutely chomping at the bit now.

4. My back's the best it's ever been at the moment, well, since it started being crap anyway. Still need to work on some flexibility, as there's a whole section that does not bend when I touch my toes. But definitely getting there.

5. I made a lush carbonara last night, accompanied by some German beer, in time for the best football match of the tournament. Viva l'Italia. Healthy eating doing well, and it really makes a difference in how you feel in yourself.

See you next month.
